"Shoremen at the Next Level"

October 13, 2007

The meeting between Fordham and Patriot League foe Georgetown on Saturday featured two of our Shoremen alumni.  2005 grad Ian Pace plays offensive tackle for the Rams.  Ian is a sophomore in terms of eligibility, having received a medical redshirt when he missed all of the 2006 season recovering from knee surgery.  Chris Rau, ALHS 2006, is a starting safety for  the Hoyas.  Chris had a game-high 15 tackles, but Fordham pulled out a 38-13 victory.  Rau also leads the Hoyas in tackles for the season with 50 in seven games.

In other action Saturday:

·       Trey Stross came up with two catches for 19 yards in Iowa’s 10-6 win over #18 Illinois.  Trey is still nursing his hamstring injury and is only allowed 15-20 plays per game.  By the way, Stross was the “Chevrolet Player of the Game” last week against Penn State.

·       Andrew Means caught 3 passes for 27 yards in Indiana’s 52-27 loss to Michigan State..

·       Matt Kostelnik made six tackles for Mount Union as the Raiders blew away Wilmington 59-0.

·       Jon Schroeder ran his season TD count to 11 with a 1 yard run.   Jon totaled 43 yards on 14  carries and caught one pass for six yards.  The Eagles topped Northern Michigan 47-21 to move to 4-1 on the season.
