While most Ohio college football fans are in a state of mourning over the struggles of the Ohio State Buckeyes, where an injury has ended Mike D'Andrea's season, fans of three smaller schools with Shoremen connections are as happy as they can be. Baldwin Wallace improved their record to 6-0, as Derek Fabry had another fine game with 5 tackles, including one for a loss and 1/2 sack. Dane Wilson also saw some action for the Yellow Jackets on the field goal/extra point team. BW is tied for first place in the Ohio Athletic Conference with unbeaten Mt. Union, where Jeff Strauch starts at tailback. Wooster, where Mark Lightfoot plays on the offensive line, is also 6-0 and tied first place in the North Coast Athletic Conference.
