Trey Stross had a big receiving day in Iowa’s 28-17 comeback win over Northwestern.  Although limited to 20 plays in the game to safeguard his recovering hamstring, Trey caught three passes for 91 yards, including a 20 yard touchdown and a 53 yarder to set up another Hawkeye score.

In Saturday’s other games:

·       Our other Big Ten wideout, Andrew Means of Indiana, caught one ball for 35 yards.  The Hoosiers downed Ball State 38-20.

·       Sophomore tackle Ian Pace’s Fordham squad pulled out a nail biter over Holy Cross, 24-21, to remain unbeaten the Patriot League.  They are 8-2 overall, 5-0 in league play.

·       Georgetown dropped a heartbreaker to Marist by a 37-34 count in three overtimes.  Hoya safety Chris Rau had 9 tackles.

·       Mount Union recorded their fifth consecutive shutout, blanking John Carroll 53-0.  Matt Kostelnik had to tackles and an interception.

·       Jon Schroeder’s Ashland Eagles continued their hot streak, winning in a 63-42 shootout with Wayne State.  The Eagles  are now 7-1 in the GLIAC and have a great shot to make the Division II playoffs this year.
