"Shoremen at the Next Level"
November 11, 2006
Junior RB Jon Schroeder had a career best game to lead Ashland over Gannon by a 45-14 count. The Shoremen’s all-time leader in both scoring and rushing yards tallied four touchdowns on runs of 22, 2, 1, and 11 yards. Schroeder carried 11 times for 65 yards on the day. He also caught 3 passes for 46 yards and even made one tackle for the Eagles. Congrats to Jon on a great game from all his fans here in Shoremen Country! In other games Saturday:
· Trey Stross scored his first collegiate TD in the 4th quarter of the Iowa’s game against Wisconsin on a 24 yard pass from Drew Tate. The Hawkeyes’ rally came up just short, though, and Wisconsin held on to win 24-21. Stross also contributed on special teams with another tackle on kickoff coverage.
· At Georgetown, true freshman Chris Rau continues to see increased playing time. Chris, who is now the first team nickel back for the Hoyas, chipped in with two tackles in a 45-14 thrashing of Lafayette.
· Matt Kostelnik had three tackles in top-ranked Mount Union’s 45-17 demolition of Marietta.
· Andrew Means of Indiana caught one pass for 5 yards as the Hoosiers fell to #2 Michigan, 34-3.
